Lost dogs find new way home

LOST and impounded dogs could be reunited with local residents via a new facility in Cranbourne West.
Due to a change in the City of Casey’s pound services, lost and impounded animals will be located at the Lost Dogs’ Home starting in June.
Lost Dogs’ Home, which will be located at 920 Thompsons Road, will be responsible for reuniting residents with their beloved pets.
City of Casey mayor Shar Balmes said that in addition to providing a more cost-effective service to the council, the change of pound services would provide residents with a number of additional benefits.
These include a more central location, newer facility, co-located vet and ability to house livestock.
In conjunction with the Lost Dogs’ Home, Casey council has developed a lost animals’ database which can be accessed by pet owners searching for their lost pet. The database for lost animals can be viewed from 2 June, 2011 on the Council website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/lostpets.
For further information about the Lost Dogs’ Home, or the new database, phone the council on 9705 5200, or visit Council’s website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/pets or www.dogshome.com.
