KINDERGARTENS in Endeavour Hills, Narre Warren, Berwick and Hampton Park will share in $33,345 in grants.
Children and Early Childhood Development Minister Wendy Lovell delivered the good news to families at Goodstart Barnsley Drive in Endeavour Hills on Tuesday.
The kinder received a $10,000 grant to install a pergola over its playground.
Good Start Hanna Drive in Endeavour Hills received $9845 to upgrade its playground, and Narre Warren Central Preschool will use $9000 to install shade sails over its outdoor area.
Allara Kindergarten in Endeavour Hills, Bridgewater Kindergarten in Berwick and Coral Drive Kindergarten in Hampton Park each received $1500 for new laptops.
Liberal candidate for Narre Warren North Amanda Stapledon said the upgrades were crucial to ensuring children’s centres in the fast-growing Narre Warren area could deliver the world-class learning programs local children deserved.
Ms Lovell said the local centres were among 643 Victorian preschools and children’s centres enabled to upgrade their facilities and IT systems through $2.9 million in grants.
“Victoria already leads the nation in early childhood education and care, and by improving early years facilities and infrastructure, we are making Victoria an even better place for families to raise their children,” she said.
