DELTA Goodrem attracted an adoring crowd at a live Westfield Fountain Gate performance, some waiting 10 hours to get a glimpse of the pop princess.
The former Ramsay Street teenager was booked to sing and sign copies of her new single, Dear Life, at 5.30pm on Thursday 28 April.
But some eager fans couldn’t wait that long, arriving at the centre 10 hours before the show.
“I got here at 9am, but some people had been here since 7.30am,” Alisha Austin said.
“I’ve been here all day but it was worth it.”
The 22-year-old Cranbourne Lions Club member has battled with the pain of endometriosis for six years and said Goodrem had been a source of inspiration.
“If Delta can beat cancer, I figure I can get through this,” she said.
Alisha patiently lined up for more than two hours before the golden girl jumped on stage and sang Dear Life, Wings and snippets from her well known hits.
“I gave her a T-shirt embroided with ‘I fight like a girl’. She loved it and I got lots of hugs,” Alisha said.
Goodrem signed hundreds of posters and had photos taken with every fan by a Westfield Fountain Gate photographer.
