THE Casey/Cardinia Life Activities Club celebrated its 20th birthday – 20 years to the day since it was established.
Berwick’s Brentwood Park Neighbourhood House held the celebration on Thursday 26 May with the main function room full of fun and frivolity.
The Casey/Cardinia Life Activities Club is a social club for active men and women who are 50 and over, and who live in the City of Casey, the shire of Cardinia, and the surrounding areas.
The initial interest to start a local club was there 20 years ago and on 22 May 1996 a public meeting was held in the Berwick Masonic Hall and a steering committee was established.
The Berwick Life Activities Club, as it was then known, was formed at the inaugural meeting on 26 May 1996.
It was renamed the Casey/Cardinia Life Activities Club in October 2003 and in March 2009 it became incorporated.
It is a non-profit organisation catering for those in the community who have either retired or are just about to.
Among those who attended the Bemersyde Drive event to celebrate the special milestone were a host of foundation members.
