Two arrested following car theft

TWO people have been arrested after the brazen theft of an expensive car in a daylight robbery from a car dealership in Hallam.
The thief entered the lot of the Berwick Chrysler Jeep Dodge on Princes Highway in Hallam about 11.30am on Friday 16 September.
The thief made off with a $101,000 Jeep Cherokee from the dealership while the business was open and trading.
Casey CIU police searched a property in Hallam on Thursday 22 September and located a 23-year-old Hallam man who was identified as the car thief thanks to CCTV footage from the dealership.
Police also found stolen identification and illicit drugs at the property that was searched and a 23-year-old Hallam female was also arrested.
The man was charged with the theft of the car and bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 4 November.
The woman was charged with receipt of stolen goods and was also bailed to appear in court.
The stolen Jeep remains unrecovered
