Knife raid on bottle shop

AN ARMED bandit held up a drive-through bottle shop in Doveton on Sunday after his ATM card failed when he went to buy a can of coke.
The robbery occurred at the Prince Mark Hotel at 2.45pm when the man went to purchase the can of soft drink, but his EFTPOS card was declined.
Detective Senior Constable Deanne Williams of Embona Taskforce, which is investigating the incident, said when the card was declined the man produced a knife and demanded the contents of the cash till.
The attendant then handed over a small amount of cash before the man fled the scene on foot.
Det Sen Const Williams said no one else was inside the bottle shop when the robbery occurred.
The man has been described as Caucasian, aged in his mid 20s, approximately 175 centimetres, with brown hair in a crew cut style, and a fair complexion.
He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue pants. The man has been captured on security footage which is currently being reviewed by police.
Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact Det Sen Const Deanne Williams on 9784 5528 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
