CRANBOURNE Cricket Club’s turf-one side has a 90-run chase after restricting Southern Pirates to 161 in Dandenong and District Cricket Association on Saturday
Cranbourne 3/71 v Southern Pirates 161.
Solid effort in the field from Cranbourne, with the best of the bowlers Matt Moore 4/18 and Aaron Morrison 2/17.
After some early trouble Brad Angus 27 not out and Steve Hall 24 not out steadied the ship to finish at 3/71

It was a good overall performance for Cranbourne’s first appearance at Casey Fields.
It fought back well after Southern Pirates got off to a good start on a very good wicket. Best with the ball was Roger Alister, three wickets, and Cameron Kelly, two.

After a slow start, due to some tight bowling, Cranbourne never really got going until J. Fitzgerald, M. Buggy and B. Redgen got the scoreboard ticking over to reach 8/121 off 45 overs.

Fountain Gate got away to a good start at 1/104 and Cranbourne was looking at chasing a big score, but to the team’s credit was to restrict the runs.
