Narre crickets in good position

HOSTING Lynbrook, Narre Warren’s D Grade team won the toss and elected to bat.
Vic Bradshaw and under 15 player Ryan Misquith opened the batting, getting the team off to a great start.
The team finished its innings on 213 in the 69th over. Best of the bats were Misquith (97), Bradshaw (31), Trent Anderson (24) and Jordan Toole (18).
After three overs bowled to finish the day’s play, Lynbrook will resume at 0/1.

Playing Fountain Gate, Narre Warren won the toss and elected to field.
The first wicket fell with the score of 20, sparking a excellent period in which Matthew Clarke, again bowling well, was supported by all other bowlers and some tight fielding.
Fountain Gate was dismissed for 47 after 23 overs.
Clarke collected a fine return of 6/10 off six overs while Josh Amsterdam was again devastating with three wickets.
The innings was marred by an injury to one of Narre Warren’s bowlers, Shannon Marrell, who suffered a broken nose when a ball reared in the field, and Narre Warren sends him its best wishes.
In reply Narre Warren finished at 1/72 with Dylan Quirk scoring 42.

Playing Berwick, Narre Warren won the toss and elected to bat.
The openers got off to a great start, losing the first wicket in the 10th over, that of Jordan Muzzolini (26) at 1/44.
Continuing to dominate the batting, the second wicket put on a 62-run partnership between Braden King and Ben Carter.
Carter went the second ball after drinks for 38, with Narre Warren 2/105 after 23 overs.
The team continued to bat well with John Mentiplay (25) next to fall at 3/155 in the 31st over.
Narre Warren closed the innings at 4/219 with a great knocks by Jack Spreckley (40 not out), Mitchell Arter (16 not out) and King (50 not out).

Berwick never gave up with the bat but Narre Warren kept up the pressure, bowling Berwick out for 107 in the 38th over.

With the opposition bowling well, at one stage Narre Warren was 7/58.
Tom Spreckley held the middle order together in making 16.
Narre North again fought back to have Narre Warren 9/99. Mitchell Dempster joined Mitchell Healey and they batted for the remaining 12 overs with a 63-run last-wicket stand.
Healey finished on 52 not out and Dempster 6 not out.

Narre North made 7/155, with a great outfield catch to Keigan Dickson and a one-handed special by Hayden Stagg.
Best of the bowlers were Sheldon Vurram (2/10) on a hat trick, and Chamara Liyanaarachchi (2/9).

Narre Warren captain Vihan Liyanage won the toss and elected to bat.
The players worked on their running between wickets, and showed vast improvement with few run outs.
A solid batting performance against Fountain Gate produced the team’s highest total for the year.
The bowling got off to a great start with few wides and no-balls and several deliveries hitting the stumps.
Best players were Dylan Alexander, Rohan Jain, Vihan Liyanage and Swetha Ranashinge.
