Laptops stolen

IT WAS a case of déjà vu when a Berwick computer store fell victim to its second smash and grab raid.
The Clyde Road store was raided early on Sunday when a rock was thrown through a front door. Two laptops worth $6000 were stolen. Police said this was the second break-in in recent weeks and they believe the same person, captured on surveillance cameras, was responsible.
On the first occasion an IBM laptop worth $1800 was stolen at 3.25am on Thursday, 21 September.
The thief was captured on surveillance cameras. He was wearing gloves, a red hooded windcheater, dark beanie and beige slacks. He was of medium height and build.
Police this week said they believed the same person was responsible for both break-ins.
