Stench of deception

DETECTIVES are following the scent of perfume thieves who targeted a Narre Warren chemist last week and fled with loot valued at $5000.
Police believe up to four men were involved in the burglary at Terry White Chemist, upstairs in the Fountain Gate Shopping Centre, last Thursday night.
Security footage shows one man inside the store at about 5.30pm and police believe the burglary occurred soon after.
In the footage, the man appears to use a mobile telephone to make a call and two other men then enter the store, walking straight past him then moving over to the glass cabinets housing the expensive perfumes.
One man has then removed the perfumes from the glass cabinets and video footage has captured him passing the bottles back to the other man who places them inside a backpack.
The pair then leaves the store.
Detective Sergeant Garry Kear of Narre Warren CIU said the thefts were not discovered until about 9pm when the chemist went to close up.
Det Sgt Kear said a fourth man was also recorded on video footage during the course of the evening, and police believe he might also be involved.
He said the men were of Latin appearance and aged between 17 and 25.
Det Sgt Kear said many of the perfumes stolen were Allure by Calvin Klein and Coco Chanel’s Chance.
Anyone with any information about the burglary can contact Detective Senior Constable Simon Polson of Narre Warren CIU on 9705 3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
