SOUTHERN Cross Primary School prep students may not have drawn a line in the sand just yet but they are using it for educational purposes.
The Endeavour Hills school recently had a new fully enclosed sandpit installed and the younger students have been playing and learning in it ever since.
Prep teacher Fiona Astridge said it was a great addition for the school.
“The children love to build giant castles and deep holes and because it is fully enclosed, the sand does not disappear over the sides,” Ms Astridge said.
“This term, they are looking forward to using it both at play times and during class time. They will be able to use the sand to explore different maths concepts, such as heavy, light, full and empty.”
It’s the pits – and kids love it!
