Black back

WESTFIELD Fountain Gate turned into a fashion mecca last Wednesday night for its VIP fashion night which showcased the fashion trends for autumn and winter 2008.
The event attracted more than 4000 guests who were treated to a glass of champagne and special offers from the 50 fashion retailers on show.
Most stores offered discounts for the night with many owners thrilled with the sales made during the evening.
Black is definitely back, for yet another season but this time it’s being teamed up with vibrant red, pink and orange accessories such as opaque stockings.
Once again accessorising was the key with oversized clutches and totes and scarfs, leather gloves and hats.
Even the men were accessorising with satchels and scarfs.
High waisted pants, pencil skirts, puffer and biker jackets are all hot looks for the upcoming season.
Boots seem to be the shoe of the season, from ankle boots to slouch boots, even the 1940s shoe boot has made a comeback.
Australian Idol’s Carl Riseley, with his famous trumpet, entertained the crowd by opening up the show with a performance of Time After Time and I Need Your Love, both featured on his debut album Rise, released later this month, 26 April.
The artist dressed in a classic black suit and surprised the audience by joining in with the catwalk parade.
In an interview with the News, Riseley admitted he was nervous about being a first time walker down the catwalk.
With the music pumping to the sound of Michael Jackson’s Beat It, the models and dancers dazzled the catwalk with choreographed routines.
The only downfall would be that on several outfits the price tags were hanging out – not a good look.
The finale went off with a bang to Michael Buble’s Sway and after the show Riseley spent over an hour signing autographs and posing for photos with his fans.
