BOTH Cranbourne RSL men’s bowls teams had crushing wins on the weekend in the Royal Victorian Bowls Association.
The Division Six side travelled to Highett, beating the team on its home soil 107-75.
Stand-out bowlers included Barry Burgess, Shane Riddiford and Maree Taylor. This puts Cranbourne RSL one point clear on the ladder after two rounds.
The Division Three side played Noble Park at home and at afternoon tea break, only a few shots separated the teams.
However, Cranbourne RSL came out fighting and went on to win by 80 shots, 147-67.
Big wins were recorded by the teams skipped by Ryan Drummond, Neil Drummond and Greg Dore.
Barry Jones’ had a great fight back, coming from 11 shots down to win by eight shots.
The highlight of the day was the team of John Vowels, Len Clarke, Peter Somers and Greg Dore scoring a maximum eight shots on the last end.
The Division Three side sits on top of its ladder and looks forward to playing Pakenham at Pakenham this week.
