LITTLE ATHLETICS BRIEFS

NARRE WARREN
Narre Warren little athletes competed on Saturday morning on a heavy track in occasional rain, but this did not stop under-15 girl Brittany Fenton from breaking her own 1500 metres walk record again for the third time this season.
Two weeks ago, Brittany broke the club record with a time of 8:17.26 and last week followed with a time of 8:11.76, shaving a further 5.5 seconds.
On Saturday evening athletes from the Dandenong Little Athletics Centre participated in the Run with the Stars program at the Cranbourne harness racing track. Narre Warren under-14 athlete Jacob Huisman was second and under-15 girl Phoebe Dunn was third in the 200-metre handicap sprint.
The club congratulated under-12 athlete Amy Burren on her wonderful effort at the Pacific School Games at Olympic Park. She won the 1500-metres walk gold medal with a time 7:29.0.
Training is on Thursday evening from 5pm to 6.15pm at Max Pawsey Reserve, Fountain Drive, Narre Warren.
This Friday is the second twilight meeting for the season beginning at 5.30pm.
HALLAM
After rain on Friday the track was surprisingly good. Many athletes turned out good personal bests and Fred Faulkner achieved five standards out of five events.
The club Christmas break-up was on Saturday night and everyone enjoyed themselves. The club thanked hosts Tony and Nanette.
The club wished good luck to James Triantafilou, Luke Sheppard, Kate Brown and Bridget Faulkner, who are competing at the State Relay Championships this weekend.
Twilight competition starts at 5.30pm Friday.
CRANBOURNE
The twilight program last Friday was cancelled due to weather that made the track wet.
This Saturday Cranbourne is running its multi-day event at 8.45am.
The club congratulations to all athletes who participated in Run with the Stars at Cranbourne harness meeting last Saturday in the wet and cold.
The club congratulated athletes who qualified for the finals and the younger athletes who participated in the under six-to-under eight carnival in windy conditions.
