A LARGE pool of congealed blood and smashed dentures found in Doveton have sparked a police investigation.
Residents of a Jacaranda Street house in Doveton made the gruesome discovery at the bottom of their driveway last Thursday morning, and quickly alerted Narre Warren police.
The blood and broken false teeth setting have baffled police, who so far have no victim and no offender in their sights.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox from the Narre Warren CIU said he hoped that forensic investigations and the public would combine to offer some answers.
“At this stage we’re investigating what we believe to be an assault, and judging by the amount of blood present, it would appear to be a serious assault,” he said.
He said there was a substantial police investigation into the incident and he believed a vehicle was involved.
He urged local residents or any members of the public with information to contact the Narre Warren police station on 9705 3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
