TWO exhibitions are on display in the City of Casey Civic Centre Arts Space until the end of January.
A Brush with Nature is a group exhibition featuring drawings and watercolours by award-winning artist Margaret Holloway and five students of her botanical illustration class held at the Cranbourne Community House.
Accompanying the watercolour series is Endeavour Hills sculptor Ruth Pinto’s exhibition My World.
Born in Sri Lanka, Ms Pinto emigrated to Australia and studied painting and sculpture at Deakin University, Warrnambool, and her work is now represented in collections around the world.
The exhibition also includes Ms Pinto’s Lovers Collection and her piece Rhythm of the Ocean, which explores her fascination for water in all its forms.
“I used all my favourite themes in this sculpture,” Ms Pinto said.
City of Casey manager arts and leisure Robyn Bowen said the final Civic Centre Arts Space exhibit for the year capped off an outstanding series of exhibits from local and regional artists covering a wide range of themes and materials.
“I encourage residents and visitors to regularly pass by this informal arts space and view this and the other unique exhibits held throughout the year,” Ms Bowen said.
The exhibitions are on at the art space at the Narre Warren Council Offices, Magid Drive, Narre Warren, until 30 January.
