THEY rock and rolled. They shaved and sheared.
And they all had a ball as they raised money for cancer research.
The fun was all a part of the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave event at a Narre Warren park on Saturday.
Lana Kerr organised the festivities for Team Mofo and said she was thrilled with everyone who turned up and helped out on the day.
The group was made up of mostly family and friends who decided to lose their locks or colour their hair for a good cause.
Ms Kerr said the event had raised about $1000.
“Unfortunately I didn’t raise as much as I would have liked, but I guess it’s better than nothing,” she said.
Ms Kerr said it was her first attempt at organising such a big event and she had learnt a lot.
Jo Piastrino, Sugar and Spice, Garry O’Brien and Bodywave Belly Dance were just some of the performers to offer their services free of charge for the event.
Hallam Fresh Meat and Poultry also gave the event some flavour with a meat donation.
The day, which involves about 100,000 people across Australia, helps raise money for cutting-edge research into better treatments and cures through various research programs.
