COLLEEN Tancredi has proved she has what it takes as she stormed through the first week of the Star Makeover competition.
After two training sessions with personal trainer and nutritionist Amanda Dean, Colleen has already lost half a kilogram, two centimetres off her hips and one centimetre off her waist.
Her body fat percentage has also decreased by 1.2 per cent.
Despite some sore muscles and snack food cravings, Colleen has tackled her physical training and healthy eating routine head on.
“The training has been hard but fun,” she said.
Colleen, 35, has a three-day eating plan with strict recipes and is limited to 1400 calories on the other four days.
“I’m not allowed any white bread,” she said. “I only make it for the kids.
“At first I found it hard to stop eating at 7pm. I’ve gone beyond that now.
“I guess when you eat less your body needs less.”
Colleen said she was trying to approach her exercise by doing things the whole family could do together.
“When I go to the park with the kids I see if there’s something I can do as well,” she said.
“On Sunday I took them to the pool and did some laps while I was there.”
Colleen said she was enjoying the set recipes but cooking and supermarket shopping had become whole new experiences, taking twice as long as normal.
Amanda said Colleen had done well in her first two training sessions, concentrating mainly on cardio exercise and with some weight training.
She said she was impressed by Colleen’s weight loss so far.
“I imagine next week’s results will be even better. We are aiming for one kilogram or more next week,” Amanda said.
