OFTEN the local pub can be a cause of argument in many a marriage or even a place to escape relationship woes, but the local drinking spot has now become a place where Casey couples can share their feelings and even strengthen their marriages.
And it seems that more and more couples are now taking up this option and gaining the tools they need to build a strong and healthy marriage through a local marriage course with a difference.
Sponsored by the Cornerstone Christian Church the course attracted 16 couples last term and coordinators Neville and Cheree Waterman said they have been overwhelmed by the response.
So much so, that they will now start a second course next month at the Fountain Gate Hotel to meet growing demand.
“Your marriage is worth an investment of time and attention in order to make it the best it can be,” Mr Waterman said.
He also said that each week, couples could enjoy a twocourse meal together, listen to a presentation and privately discuss the topics raised.
“There is no group discussion, and no requirement for couples to disclose anything about their relationship to anyone else,” he said.
Mr Waterman said that if you already had a strong marriage then the course would help couples make their relationships even better.
“Some couples who are separated have used the course as a way of trying to get back together,” he said.
The course will once again be hosted at the Fountain Gate Hotel and an Information Night will be held on Tuesday, 4 October, providing couples with a twocourse meal and an opportunity to see for themselves what The Marriage Course will entail before deciding to register.
There will be no charge for this night; however bookings are essential for catering purposes.
The course will then involve seven Tuesday nights, beginning on Tuesday, 11 October. The cost for each couple is $295 which includes the meals and materials supplied. For details phone 9700 1544.
