CASEY’S senior residents will be able to learn about housing issues during a special forum next month.
Advice on continuing to live independently and staying connected to the community will be just two of the topics discussed during the meeting.
The Doveton Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal centre and Housing of the Aged Action Group (HAAG) will join the City of Casey in organising the event.
Casey manager community development Janette Green said the forum was all part of council’s Ageing Positively in Casey Plan.
“Council is committed towards helping residents to continue living independently, stay in their own homes and be connected to their community,” Ms Green said.
“Discussions need to continue with residents nearing retirement age and beyond to ensure that people are aware of the support services available and the ways that their input can make a difference to housing options.”
The event will take place at the Doveton Neighbourhood Learning Centre from 9.45am to 1pm on Thursday, 5 April.
