ST MARGARET’S student Elke Wakefield could barely contain her excitement when she found out her ENTER ranking was only two marks off a perfect score.
Elke, who received the Dux award with a score of 99.85, was one of 50 year 12 students who completed their VCE at the Berwick school this year and was thrilled with her efforts.
Georgina Beech and Catherine Downey also celebrated their impressive results. Both girls scored 99.65, and all three will now embark on the next stage of their education.
A third of St Margaret’s students achieved an ENTER score over 90 and almost half of the year 12s scored over 85.
All three girls reflected on their achievements over the past year and reminisced about the memories they will take from their final year of secondary school.
“You reap just what you sow and I have been breaking my back in those metaphorical fields,” Elke said.
“Year 12 was the busiest, craziest and most exhausting year, but on reflection those special memories and friendships will last a lifetime,” Catherine said.
Georgina said 2006 had been a very rewarding year in both her academic studies and co-curricular activities.
“Whilst I am extremely pleased with my result, to me year 12 has been much more than just an ENTER score,” Georgina said.
