A BIG Berwick bear needs a name.
Parkhill Berwick News and Lotto is running a competition to find a name for its latest arrival – a Hallmark Forever Friends bear.
Newsagency owners Lynne and Geoff Ireland have already donated the bear, worth $500, to the Berwick Salvation Army Church.
The bear will be used in a silent auction for the church’s upcoming family trivia night.
However, the bear remains nameless and local children have been urged to drop into the Parkhill Plaza newsagency to fill in an entry form and come up with a name.
Mrs Ireland said the lucky winner would receive a smaller version of the Hallmark bear and a hamper full of goodies.
The competition closes on Thursday 27 July and the trivia night will be held on Saturday 29 July.
Tickets for the trivia night are $5 each and tables will be for eight people.
The games start at 7.30pm and people have been encouraged to bring along snacks and drinks and spare money for auctions and games.
Tea and coffee and prizes will be provided and hot soup will be on sale. Call 9704 1940 to book your tickets.
The church is located at the corner of Ernst Wanke and Parkhill Drive, Berwick.
