CATS are meant to have nine lives and some cute Narre Warren kittens have already used up one.
The eight to 10-week-old furry felines are strays that have been handed in at the Narre Warren Veterinary Clinic and need new homes.
While the cute and cuddly creatures are fully cared for at the clinic, staff have put out the call to see if a permanent family can be found.
Each kitten costs $185, has been desexed, micro-chipped and has received its first vaccination while owners also get a carry box, kitten care book and other helpful products to give their new pet a smooth start to life.
Kitten adoption coordinator Leanne McKenzie said a kitten could be a great present for Christmas but only if it was “for life, not just for Christmas”.
“We don’t want to encourage anyone to surprise the rest of the family who are not prepared for the new addition,” Ms McKenzie said.
She said prospective owners could look forward to the companionship of a pet with clean habits and enjoy the entertainment a new kitten would bring.
“They should be prepared to feed, house, love and care for their new friend. Cats are generally long-living and are low maintenance,” she said.
Anyone interested in adopting a kitten can contact the Narre Warren Veterinary Clinic on 9704 6463.
