THERE were green thumbs aplenty at Southern Cross Primary School in Endeavour Hills on Friday, as the school made its contribution to National Tree Day.
While the official National Tree Day date was Sunday, 31 July, students and teachers were out in force on Friday to improve the vegetation of their school grounds.
It was all hands on deck as students dug, planted, sowed, raked and staked a variety of flora around the school’s garden beds, sprucing up the natural environment.
National Tree Day is organised by Planet Ark and Australian Geographic is one of the event’s supporters.
Endeavour Hills was buzzing with Tree Day activities last week, with staff from the Australian Geographic store in Fountain Gate also contributing to the cause at Frog Hollow Reserve.
