THE Endeavour Hills Lions and Lioness Club is on the look out for walkers to take part in the 2007 Casey Cardinia Relay For Life.
The call follows the success of this year’s 24-hour relay event, that raised a record $42,000 for the Cancer Council Victoria.
Held at Berwick’s Akoonah Park on Friday, 3 March, the event honoured cancer survivors and carers and those who had lost their battle with the disease.
During the 24-hour event, 413 participants took to the track, with teams camping overnight, participating in challenges and keeping the energy levels and spirit alive.
Forty members of the Lions and Lionesses club and friends carried their baton continually over 24 hours.
A Lioness tent was set up with some dedicated walkers sleeping overnight.
Club members also put on an egg, bacon and sausage breakfast for the hungry walkers from 6am to 11am.
Anyone interested in walking with the Endeavour Hills Lions and Lioness Club next year can contact Lioness Lesley Smith on 9703 2585.
