OLD and young came together last week when Hallam Valley Primary School hosted a grandparents’ afternoon as part of Education Week celebrations.
Students in prep, one and two at the Narre Warren school made invitations in the lead-up to the event and those without grandparents brought along a special friend.
Visitors were entertained by a mini concert and also watched the Hallam Valley World Cup Soccer afternoon and played math games with students.
Grade one teacher and Education Week coordinator Nazley Effendi said a great deal of preparation had gone into the Education Week activities and everyone had enjoyed the events.
Students created many displays and written poems in the weeks before Education Week and had also made special badges to mark the celebrations.
