Lost Odyssey for the Xbox 360 is an epic video gaming adventure that no gamer should miss.
Spanning four DVD ROMs, Lost Odyssey is a lengthy, yet rewarding, role playing game (RPG) that E-Talk firmly believes is a contender for the RPG crown.
Following the likes of Final Fantasy, Lost Odyssey takes RPGs to a new level with a ring system that requires some real-time input into the game’s combat.
While traditionalists may scoff, this feature will appeal to gamers who have been turned off the genre in the past by repetitive, drone-like button pressing when trying to play through previous RPGs.
Players hold the right trigger until one ring hits another.
Release it perfectly and you’ll add attack points to your character’s combat move.
Your character, Kaim, is an immortal who has lived for 1000 years but has lost nearly all of his memories.
Throughout your adventure, in a world that is in the thick of a magical revolution, you team up with a combination of mortal and immortal characters, with immortals able to learn skills from their mortal counterparts.
As Kaim sleeps, you’ll also unlock dreams that reveal more of the storyline.
Lost Odyssey uses the next-generation Unreal 3 engine and looks so beautiful that at times it is difficult to distinguish between pre-rendered cutscenes and in-game graphics. This is one time-consuming game. Expect to pump about 50 hours into it. If you can find the time, then Lost Odyssey is a masterpiece RPG that deserves a purchase, especially if you have enjoyed the likes of Final Fantasy.
