A BERWICK Primary School teacher will have some of the best seats in the house on 15 March, when she attends the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.
Luisa Wilkinson was the lucky winner of four tickets after entering a competition in December.
The four Areserve tickets are valued at $2360 and Ms Wilkinson said she was delighted with the win and looking forward to taking her husband and two sons to the onceinalifetime event.
Ms Wilkinson was one of more than 25,000 visitors to attend the Commonwealth Games Open Day and gain a sneak preview of the MCG, athletes’ village, Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, and State Netball and Hockey Centre.
“We are fortunate as a family to be given this opportunity to witness the coming together of people from all over the world in celebration of the common link we share,” she said.
“This will be a onceinalifetime experience.”
Ms Wilkinson teaches at St Michael’s in Berwick and said she had never won anything in her life.
“I only filled in one form and I was going to fill in more but my husband said it only takes one to win and he was right,” she said.
Ms Wilkinson said her family had been considering buying tickets for the Games but had never dreamed of having such great seats at such an important event. “We are very lucky,” she said.
