THE Casey Scorpions are back in action this weekend when they face the Werribee Tigers for the inaugural Peet Cup at Barter Card Oval on Saturday at 1.10pm.
The round-eight encounter will be televised throughout the state on ABC television and the winning team will receive a custom-built trophy.
Real estate developer Peet Limited sponsors both the Scorpions and the Tigers, but this will be the first time the cup is contested.
Casey last played on 13 May when it went down by 13 points in a thriller against the Coburg Tigers in round six.
The Scorpions had a bye in round seven and the state match between the Victorian Football League (VFL) and the West Australian Football League (WAFL) took place on Saturday.
The VFL side that did not include a single Scorpion player, destroyed the WAFL by 119 points.
