ACTING hopefuls flocked to Westfield Fountain Gate on Saturday for their chance at Australian soap opera stardom.
Iconic television show Neighbours was looking for its next big star with budding actors having the chance to audition.
Girl’s magazine Dolly is conducting a national search to find two new Neighbours cast and stars Dan O’Connor (Ned), Eliza Taylor-Cotter (Janae) and MC Ryan Moloney (‘Toady’) joined Bronwyn McCahon, editor of Dolly and Jan Russ, casting director for Neighbours in centre court.
Dolly is looking for a girl (aged 12 to 16) and a boy (aged 15 to 18) to become new Neighbours cast members.
The two young actors will need to prove they have the talent, motivation, star quality and drive to be Australia’s next TV stars: the successful candidates will each secure a three-month Neighbours contract – with the possibility of an extension for up to three years.
The competition has attracted 7000 video entries with live auditions taking place right across the country.
