EUMEMMERRING College students got a first hand look at one of the most famous love stories of all time last month.
Year nine classes at the Gleneagles Campus College had the exciting opportunity to see Romeo and Juliet in action thanks to the Flying Bookworm Company.
English teacher Suzanne Dowling said students were studying Romeo and Juliet as part of their English curriculum.
“This particular style of performance is beneficial in unravelling the play’s multi-layered meanings and raising students’ awareness about the big issues covered by Shakespeare,” Ms Dowling said.
She said two actors took on the main roles of the play with crucial speeches and actions delivered in a modern setting.
Year nine student Ashley said: “It was hilarious to see some of my friends acting with the two professional actors and it breaks down the fear factor of studying Shakespeare.”
