LOCAL sporting clubs put their heads down for charity recently with the launch of Anglicare Victoria’s Christmas appeal.
Held at Bunnings Warehouse in Narre Warren, the Casey Tiger Sharks Swimming Club took to water against Bunnings teams in an apple bobbing competition to launch the annual Christmas campaign that will raise funds for underprivileged children and families.
As part of the campaign, angel pens and mini angel bell Christmas tree decorations will be sold throughout Bunnings and Bi-Lo stores nationally.
Anglicare hopes to raise $1 million through the appeal to aid children and families in need during Christmas and ensure that all children have safe, loving homes at Christmas time and throughout the year.
Anglicare Victoria is one of Victoria’s largest non-government child and family welfare agency.
