TOORADIN Football Club has appointed 2006 under 18 coach Tom Hallinan to the senior role.
Seagulls president Chris Denereaz announced the appointment after it was unanimously ratified by the club’s committee on Tuesday night.
Hallinan joined the Seagulls from Newborough at the start of 2005 and has been a star on the field, earning Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League interleague selection this year.
He also took on the job of overseeing the formation of the club’s first under 18 side this season, and despite minimal success on the field, the young side’s enthusiasm prospered with Hallinan drawing players to the club from across the district.
It is Hallinan’s second senior coaching appointment after a stint with Oakleigh Districts in the Southern Football League, and he replaces good friend Dan O’Loughlin who has indicated he will stay at Western Port Oval as a player.
Tom takes top job
