PRINCIPALS at a number of Casey schools have slammed the traditional Year 12 muck-up day pranks.
In light of the recent events at Xavier College, Kambrya College principal Michael Muscat said the Berwick school didn’t hold a muck-up day.
“We had a celebration picnic at Gumbuya Park to mark the final day of secondary school for the current Year 12 students,” he said.
“Muck-up days are anti-social and a bad idea.”
Hallam Senior Secondary College Year 12 students partied with pride at the school’s incident-free carnival day.
Teacher Matt Pearson said the school had established a tradition of farewelling the students by providing them with a carnival of rides, pancakes and pizzas, fancy dress competitions and a slime fight with the teachers.
The school, which began the carnival day more than 10 years ago, had noted a decrease in the anti-social pranks associated with end of school festivities, Mr Pearson said.
