SHOPPERS will be queuing up to grab a bargain at a new shopping complex in Narre Warren North.
The Narre Warren North Village Centre, on the corner of Main Street and Oak View Boulevard, will be having specials and children’s activities next week to mark the opening.
The centre has a Marco’s IGA supermarket plus liquor, newsagency, post office, bakery and café.
Owners Marco and Annette Ciavarella, who have been living in Narre Warren North for more than 23 years, owned the general store adjacent to the new precinct for more than 10 years.
Mr Ciavarella said there was a need for the development as owing to continual growth in the area.
“The family spent three years planning for the development. It was a lot of hard work, but we are happy with the end product,” he said. “Narre Warren North now has a community shopping complex.”
Mr Ciavarella said the response from local shoppers had been extremely positive.
He said there was parking for more than 100 spaces, including disabled spots.
“Narre Warren North Village Centre is a one shop stop and we’re only going to get bigger and better.”
The café is open from 6am to 6pm, with all of the pies, cakes, breads and biscuits made daily on the premises.
The café and bakery are run by Mr Ciavarella’s son in law Paul Di Fiore.
The supermarket is open from 7am to 9pm, seven days a week.
The post office and newsagency is open from 7am to 6.30pm from Monday to Friday, Saturday from 7.30am to 2pm and Sunday, 8am to 1pm.
Mr Ciavarella is inviting the community to check out the new development.
“Don’t go to the big boys, we will give you quick service as it’s our main priority,” he said.
