
FOUR of Cranbourne Bowling Club’s teams posted big wins in the Metro Pennant competition to consolidate positions in the top half of the ladder.
The number-one division side was at home to Blackburn and produced a top performance to win by 24 shots.
Cranbourne was in control all day, with the rink of Ray Travica leading the way with a 19-shot victory.
Brian Gay’s rink maintained its excellent form to post a seven-shot win.

Cranbourne (2) led early before suffering a disappointing seven-shot loss at Boronia.
Glen Imeson’s rink handled the conditions well for an eight-shot win and the steady John Pentreath controlled his rink for a three-shot win.

Cranbourne (3) hosted Cranbourne RSL in the local derby and recorded a dominant 40-shot success, with wins on all rinks for maximum points.
Wally Ballard’s rink was in great form, and Tony Whalley, with Jamie Imeson back for his first game, led the way on their rink en route to a 16-shot win.
Skips Ken Hocking and Mike Noa played their parts with four and two-shot wins respectively.

Cranbourne (4) had a great battle at Pakenham but couldn’t bring home the points, despite winning three of the four rinks.
Pakenham won by 10 shots after Cranbourne led narrowly at the break.

Cranbourne (5) continued on its merry way with a 45-shot victory at Heathmont.
Sofio Raiti was in hot form with a 26-shot triumph, and Keith Davies’ rink’s 18-shot win was also impressive.
This side is the clear leader in its section.

Cranbourne (6) maintained its position near the top of the ladder with a 30-shot victory over Highett at home.

Cranbourne (1) came back to reality against Waverley Golf in Ladies’ Pennant after last week’s big win.
The ladies couldn’t handle the local greens and lost comprehensively by 55 shots.

Cranbourne (2) bounced back with an excellent come-from-behind six-shot win over Berwick.
Cranbourne shared the winning rinks with Berwick, but Margaret Williams’ and Erike Woodman’s rinks held bigger margins to ensure victory.
