ENDEAVOUR Hills Junior Football Club officials are bringing Carlton star Brendon Fevola back to his roots next Friday. The ex-Narre Warren footballer will return to the City of Casey for the Hills’ registration day at Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre on 30 January from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
New president Mario Aiezza hopes Fevola’s appearance, which former Carlton player and now Endeavour Hills committee member Dean Rice organised, will kick-start another successful campaign. The club capped its 30th year with four premierships in the Dandenong and District Junior Football League (DDJFL) last season after also achieving the feat in 2000. Two other Hills teams reached grand finals in 2008.
“We want to ensure that we are providing our kids with the right environment to continue that success,” Aiezza said.
“This information day is an opportunity for the local community to come in and have a chat to us and find out what direction our club is looking to take.”
Aiezza plans on improving the club’s relationship with the DDJFL and TAC Cup under-18 side the Dandenong Stingrays.
“We have talented kids at the club and we want to make sure we give them a really good pathway into senior football at the highest level possible,” he said.
“We really intend this year to work more closely with the DDJFL and the Stingrays to increase our participation in their program.
“We want to provide more opportunities to local kids to participate in a great level of football.”
