CHARITY begins at home for staff at Windermere Child and Family Services.
The Narre Warren based centre has been running the Internal Payroll Giving program for more than 15 years, with staff donating a record amount of $5560 during the past year.
As an incentive to the 100 staff involved with the fortnightly initiative, Windermere Child and Family Services matches the money raised dollar for dollar.
The total amount of money raised from 11 January 2008 to 11 January 2009 has reached $11,120.
Community engagement and fund-raising manager Terry Thomas said the money would be going directly towards client assistance such as family counselling, the Kids Becoming Champions program, victims of crime and homelessness.
“Staff are not only sacrificing money out of their wages to go towards the cause, but are also volunteering after hours work to run various special programs,” Ms Thomas said.
Windermere Child and Family Services is encouraging the local community to consider payroll giving. For more information please call Terry Thomas on 9705 3274 or 0407 181 601.
