NARRE Warren electrical retailer The Good Guys has donated a fridge, washing machine, kettle, toaster, iron and a small television to a family who lost their home in the Narre Warren South fires on Saturday 7 February.
The Randell family received the donations last Friday, saying they were thrilled to receive the goods.
Karen Randell said the docation replaced important things they had lost in the fire. “Saying thank you just doesn’t seem enough,” she said.
Ms Randell said her family was renting a house a Narre Warren South and “just taking it a day at a time.”
The family re-visited the ruins of their Langbourne Drive home last week. “It was not good at all,” she said. “The nightmares just seemed to flood straight back.”
Ms Randell said the support from the community was awesome. “People who we don’t event know are lending a helping hand,” she said. “Our thanks go out to everyone for helping us pull through this hard time.”
Good Guys Narre Warren proprietor Matthew Sheedy said the store wanted to give something back to the community.
It has launched an urgent appeal with collection boxes and money tins in each store until February 28.
