MOVIEGOERS can now enjoy a bigger cinema experience with the opening of the new VMAX screen at Village Cinemas Fountain Gate.
The new wall-to-wall VMAX screen measures a massive 22 metres and features state-of-the-art Dolby digital surround sound and projection.
The official launch was held on Wednesday night with an exclusive screening of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and was then opened to the public at 9.15pm for another screening.
General manager of Village Cinemas Fountain Gate Robbie Ager said the motto behind the VMAX screen is “bigger is better”.
“It’s a bigger screen, with bigger sound and bigger seating for a bigger experience,” Mr Ager said.
The new cinema seats up to 310 people and has bigger stadium seating with joint tables, cupholders and extra high backs.
It features the latest in the 3D technology to accommodate for some of this year’s most anticipated 3D films including Ice Age 3D and Coraline and the Secret Door.
Mr Ager said it was worth investing in the latest technology.
“It will ensure all patrons can enjoy the excitement and impact of the big screen choice,” he said.
