SHOW goers enjoyed carnival rides, chainsaw carving demonstrations and helicopter joy flights at last weekend’s Doveton Show.
Around 10,000 turned up to the annual event that was held on Sunday, 20 September at Myuna Farm from 10am to 4pm.
Families were treated to an animal nursery, a train ride to the farm’s native wetlands, pony rides, sheep shearing and an arts-and-craft competition that attracted just under 280 entries.
Some of the amusement rides included the Egyptian Castle, Circotrone, Bungee Run, Gladiator, GI Jane rock climb and the chair-o-plane.
Doveton Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal community development co-ordinator Sarah Northey dubbed the day as a fantastic event, with fun for the whole family.
She said the crowd numbers equalled last year’s turnout.
“People were saying how great the show was as it was a low-cost alternative to the Royal Melbourne Show,” she said.
