Bikes for Berwick

TWO students from Timbarra Primary School have won new bicycles as part of the Ride2School program.
Grade 6 students Daniel Wren and Holly Kendall scored the bicycles after being selected by the school for their active participation in bike riding.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan presented the students with their bicycles on Friday 30 October.
The State Government’s Ride2School program, which is administered by Bicycle Victoria, promotes healthier lifestyles for local kids.
At the Berwick school, 40per cent of its students ride orwalk to school every day compared to the state average of 20 per cent. “The work that Timbarra has done to promote bike riding and walking to school has been great. Not only does bike riding help prevent health problems like obesity and heart disease and arthritis later in life, it’s also a way to travel to school that gives kids greater independence and life skills,” Mr Donnellan said.
