New managers for centre

By Kelly Yates
OAKGROVE Community Centre has a new committee of management.
President Harry Naidu said the committee of management, made up of two former members and six new ones, was formed at the annual general meeting two weeks ago.
A report into the former committee of management and its operations at the Narre Warren South centre was presented to Casey council last month.
Springfield Ward councillor Sam Aziz called for the report back in July after claims that a three-year-old girl was pulled out of a play group at the centre because her parents were late in paying $7 worth of fees.
Some of the findings in the council officer’s report included poor cash handling procedures and a lack of understanding on governance and the role of the committee of management at the centre.
The first meeting for the new committee of management will be held tonight (Thursday), with Mr Naidu expecting a positive contribution from the new members.
