A PAIR of Premier John Brumby’s work boots has found a new home at Berwick Fields Primary School.
Students at the Berwick school scored the boots, which were worn by the Premier at his farm in Harcourt, after Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley asked the Premier if he would donate a pair.
Ms Graley read in the school newsletter that the school needed boots and shoes for their Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden project.
Mr Brumby congratulated Berwick Fields Primary School on their hard work with the Kitchen Garden and Go for Your Life initiative.
Principal Stephen Wigney said the students were really excited about Mr Brumby’s boots.
The school plans to display the boots in the school’s new kitchen, which is currently being built.
“We’ll also have a plaque with the boots so people know who they are from,” he said. “The kitchen will be used for the school’s environmental education program where the students will grow, harvest and then cook the produce.”
