Man charged after police pounce

PLAIN clothes police officers from Narre Warren and members from Casey Response Unit arrested an Endeavour Hills man last week after what they described as a “spectacular vehicle intercept” at Scoresby.
The Endeavour Hills man had been under investigation by police since November for a series of offences and was pounced upon around 1am on Thursday at a service station on the corner of Stud Road and High Street Road.
Police said the 26-year-old left the store after paying to refuel an allegedly stolen black 2009 Holden Senator and was confronted by police.
The man fled as an unmarked police car rounded the bowsers to block any chance of the stolen vehicle’s escape.
Police gave chase on foot and the man ran into the front of the unmarked car.
The man was arrested and treated by ambulance officers at the scene for minor injuries.
He was charged with 36 counts of attempted burglary, 14 counts of handling stolen goods, 14 counts of proceeds of crime, 12 counts of driving while disqualified, eight counts of theft of motor car, six counts of burglary, six counts of conduct endangering life, two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of breach of an intervention order and one count of stalking.
He was remanded in custody by police. Police also arrested a 21-year-old Dandenong North woman.
She was released pending summons for theft of a motor vehicle.
