MARJORIE Saunders celebrated her 97th birthday last week.
The Narre Warren North resident marked the special day on Thursday 21 January by enjoying a lunch with her family.
Ms Saunders told the News she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is a member of the Berwick Bridge Club and is an avid reader.
“I have a passion for history and geography,” she said.
Ms Saunders also volunteered her time to help raise money to go towards establishing the Maroondah Hospital.
“I spent nine years volunteering to give something back to the community,” she said.
