THE Berwick and District Show returns this year with the City of Casey as a major sponsor.
The 161st Berwick and District Show will be held at Akoonah Park, Berwick, on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February.
City of Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford said the council was proud to offer its support to the show, which was the oldest of its kind in Victoria.
“The Berwick and District Show has a long and proud farming history and offers a great opportunity for families to enjoy a low cost day out in the local area. I hope to see Casey residents of all ages and interests coming together to enjoy this fantastic annual event,” she said.
The show features a range of entertainment, activities and competitions including an animal nursery, arts and crafts, alpaca, sheep, dog and cattle competitions, horse events, poultry, rabbits, fancy rats and ferrets.
There are also carnival rides, side shows and show bags, a Beaut Ute competition, live bands and highland dancing.
“I invite all Casey residents to visit the council exhibit at the show, located at the eastern end of the main pavilion. Our interactive exhibit will offer giveaways, a range of community information, children’s activities and a competition,’ Cr Wreford said.
“I encourage all Casey residents to discover this year’s unbeatable Berwick and District Show. With such a variety of activities there is something for everyone and I hope to see you all there!”
