BERWICK resident Adam Townend has snapped his way to winning this year’s Spirit of Casey photographic competition.
Mr Townend’s photo, titled ‘Round and Round’, was taken at Timbarra Park in Berwick and captures the happiness of a young boy enjoying the spinning playground equipment.
He was announced as the winner at a special awards ceremony held on Thursday 4 February.
Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford commended everyone who took the time to participate in the competition, providing an opportunity for residents of all creative abilities to capture the spirit of Casey – the faces, places and good times – that represent what they love about living in the municipality.
Of the 42 entries, five were selected as winning images and will feature in the Civic Centre foyer as well as in the council’s publications and on the City of Casey website.
“The judging panel was very impressed with the high standard of entries and there is no question that Casey is home to a wealth of artistic talent,” Cr Wreford said.
Joseph Bailouni scored second place for his piece, ‘Morning Walk’ while Marcus Opiekan in third place for his photo titled ‘Cranbourne Racecourse Day Out’.
