With orders already flooding into Select Flowers at Westfield Fountain Gate, manager Debbie Abela predicts a “mad rush” in the three days leading up to the special day on Sunday.
“We’ll be flat chat,” she said.
“Valentine’s Day is always busy for us. Mother’s Day is also popular for florists.”
Ms Abela said many young boys and teenagers had been stocking up on gifts for their loved ones.
“We get the young ones and also the older gentlemen. There’s one man who comes to us every year to buy his wife a bunch of flowers,” she said.
“It’s a tiring time of the year for a florist but rewarding at the same time.”
She said shoppers snapped up red roses, with men wanting to buy anything from a single red rose to a box of 20.
