Parkers rule the rinks

THE Hampton Park bowls club has six of its seven sides in contention for playing off in the finals with the last game to decide positions on the ladders.

Division 3: All four teams started slowly but then picked up the tempo for an overall 35-shot win.
Jim Westwell, Lance Davis, Andrew Brandolin and skip Graham Slight worked well together to win by a handy 10 shots while Tom Kirkpatrick, Jeff Crozier, Geoff Ampt and skip Lionel Williams got a great boost with a seven to win by 14 shots.
By keeping the opposition to 13 shots for seven ends, Sean McDonald, Ken Cobden, Zac Storm and skip Ian Bartlett shot away to an 18-shot win.
It was a struggle all day for Ron Beverly, Neville Hendrie, Mark Paton and skip Geoff Ladner, winning only 10 ends in their nine-shot loss. Hampton Park 16-110 d Berwick 2-75.
Division 5: It was a good away win by four shots, which should cement their place in the four.
Allan Unwin, Pat Moevasa, Ray Wood and skip Rob Woff hung on to win when their lead was reduced by 10 shots to win by 13. A late fightback by Gerry Cox, Fred McBrian, Alan Wilcock and skip Bill Webb reduced the losing margin to seven shots.
After getting to within five shots, Les Unwin, Keith Damon, Bob Nicol and skip Bob Naismith fell away to lose by 11 shots. A good, low scoring game had Vince Kovacic, Allan March, Ray Leggett and skip Paul Barna holding firm to win by nine shots. Hampton Park 14-93 d Armadale 4-89.
Electric Light: Jim Westwell, Keith Damon, Andrew Brandolin and skip Graham Slight conceded only four ends in their big 31-shot win. Sean McDonald, Ray Wood, Christine Hendrie and skip Geoff Ladner also had large win by 22 shots.
Len Bell, Ann Westwell, Neville Hendrie and skip Geoff Ampt went from 12 shots down to get up by five shots. Hampton Park 12-91 d E. Malvern RSL 0-33.

The A2 side had to forfeit to Mulgrave CC when two players in the one team were heat affected and had to pull out. Their last game is against third-placed Berwick, which they must win to stay in top place.
The B2 side shared the points when they called off the game because of the heat. They are five points clear in the top position and have a bye for the last game.
